2015 
There will no Exhibition in 2015. Due to the enormous amount of work and the high costs, we will be moving to an exhibition every two years. 
The next one will be held in 2016.

2014 - 10th, 11th and 12th October

Our 30th Anniversary Exhibition. There is a change of venue this year to the Newcastle Police Citizens Youth Club in Broadmeadow. This is a much bigger venue with better parking and will allow us to show many more quilts for our 30th Anniversary show.

This year’s exhibition will include the following categories:
  • Marie O’Sullivan Award (hand piecing, applique and/or quilting) - judged by Kay Haerland
  • Viewer’s Choice
  • Hanger’s Choice
  • Sponsor's Award - Junior (Primary - up to 12 yrs AND High School - 13yrs - 18 yrs)
  • Sponsor's Award - Best Appliqué (machine)
  • Sponsor's Award - Best Appliqué (hand)
  • Sponsor's Award for Small Wall quilt
  • Sponor's Award for Small item (bag/cushion etc)
  • Diamond Challenge Quilt Award - judged by Kath Guilfoyle
  • Sponsor's Award - 30th Anniversary Pearl Challenge
  • Sponsor's Award - Best Pieced Quilt
  • Sponsor's Award - Art Quilt
Only the Viewer’s Choice will not be announced at the Exhibition. All other quilts will be announced on the day. On your entry form you will be asked to nominate the group you wish to enter your quilt/project.

30th Anniversary Challenge

To celebrate our 30th Anniversary, a quilt challenge is set to produce an A3 sized piece of work with "Pearls" as the theme. Any fabric and style can be used. The only stipulation is the size - 12" x 17" - landscape or portrait. Due - 20 Sep 2014.

We have a wonderful raffle quilt, tickets available now.


In addition to the Guild Stall (with lots of great handmade items), there will be four shops with tables at the event:

Demonstrations will be given by:

2013 - Quilts - Simple Pleasures

The title of this years exhibition was "Quilts - Simple Pleasures". 
At the exhibition a number of prizes were awarded. This years results were:
  • Marie O’Sullivan Perpetual Trophy (for hand-applique/hand-piecing and hand quilting) was awarded to Debbie Carraro
  • Viewers’ Choice to Barbara Longmore

  1. Lovely show - I'm thrilled to see that Maureen used my pattern to make her Autumn Lights quilt! It turned out beautifully. I also love the show of Everlasting quilts -- huge amount of work!
